First post for March
so, March is already here, and almost over – well, at least half over anyway. Is it just me or does it seem like the older you get the quicker the year seems to go? Anyway, it’s been fairly busy here of late, my photo classes have been pretty well attended, which has been keeping me occupied on the weekends. During the week things are still kind of slow, but it means after a really long weekend I get to sleep in on Monday mornings… and Tuesdays… and Wednesdays… well, you get the idea. I’ve read a lot of books and watched a lot of CSI. I’m up to book number 6 I think for this year. I’m currently reading A Clash of Kings by George R. R. Martin. I’ve enjoyed the books as much as the series, and I’m hoping to get through most of the second book before season 3 starts, although I don’t like my luck for that – it’s a pretty long book!
I’ve been trying to organise photoshoots around Bremen, Cologne and Berlin, but not with much luck. I’ve had a bit of trouble convincing the locals to model for me. Luckily, I can put a call out in London and get 15 models in a couple of days. Plus I get to spend a couple of days in London, so it’s not all bad. 🙂 I did a shoot with some friends the other day, you can check some of the pictures out on Out-Spoken Magazine
I made my first visit to an accountant here last week, so I’ll have my first official tax-return for another country done by the end of the May. I figured it’s a good idea to do it since I’ve been here a year and a half, my visa has been approved and I am now an official resident of Germany! (exciting huh?) I had to spend 2 hours waiting at the ‘aliens office’ to get my actual visa, which looks a bit like a credit card with my name and picture on it. It looks a lot like my friends new German ID card, which he can use as a passport to travel to the UK, so hopefully I’ll have an easier job passing to and from the UK when I go to visit.
I’ve also organised an exhibition here in Bremen with a few of my friends work which takes place the 2nd week of April from the 10th to the 12th. I’m really looking forward to it, and I’m planning it to be a big night! More details on that one to come for sure!
In other news, I’m growing out a beard… I really haven’t decided if I like it or not, it feels strange to touch and it has these occasional white patches which is a bit weird because the rest of my hair is really dark brown. I haven’t decided yet if I’m going to keep it, so I figure I’ll let it grow another week or so and then see if I like it.
I can’t really think of anything else to talk about, so I’m going to head off to the gym now!
